Illinois Science + Technology Park recognized for investment in energy efficiency

On January 30, 2014, representatives from Forest City, the Village of Skokie, ComEd, Trane and other suppliers gathered in our auditorium as part of a program where we received a check from ComEd for $145,207.27 as an incentive for installing new high efficiency chiller and variable speed drive controls. Energy efficient chillers and variable speed drives have controls which optimize the performance of the equipment while still meeting changing load requirements. The project called for replacing three water chilled chillers with new high efficiency models which is significantly reducing energy.

The program (ComEd's Smart Ideas For Your Business®) offers incentives to help businesses reduce electricity use by improving the efficiency of their equipment. Standard incentives are cash incentives for common energy-efficiency improvements to commercial and industrial lighting, HVAC, refrigeration and other systems.
